When Elliot Grant, founder of SmallWorld approached Gourmet Pixel, he had in mind an app that would allow friends and family to share their experiences based upon location. Through further discussion/ideation, we honed in on the name SmallWorld. This was partly due to the fact that such technologies where making the big world we all live in feel much smaller, and because in the larger context of things - it is a small world.
Our discovery meetings, lead to a favourite Carl Sagan quote;
“Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives.”
Carl Sagan, Feb 14th 1990.
It was this quote that influenced the design and styling of the logo, brand and colours. The team worked closely with Elliot to take his initial concept and hone the user experience. The brand & style guide were developed, which was then used throughout the mobile app and website. The mobile app was designed to be as clean an simple as possible, enabling users to view and share easily and allowing the content to shine.
The second screen feature of the mobile application allowed the audience to interact with cinema advert as part of the campaign.
Users can share a photo of their chosen goal via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Email or Text Message.
